Kaye Wiley Maggart is a curriculum developer and textbook writer with 35 years of teaching experience in the United States and abroad. She has a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston. As an ESL curriculum coordinator for New Haven Public Schools, she served on the Connecticut State Standards Committees for both World Languages and English as a Second Language. Since 1994, she has authored seven ESL textbooks and spoken at many TESOL conferences on the subject of emerging literacy. Ethel Berger says: I am a book illustrator and a reading tutor. I have developed and illustrated a number of short books emphasizing a phonetics approach to reading: Sam and His Ham, The Fishing Trip, among others. These have been used in schools and reading programs, where I have worked. I am the co-author of 3 ESL Books: Alligator at the Airport, Animalito Alfabeto, and A to Z Picture Activities.
